French striker Anelka signs for Bolton

LONDON, Aug 25 (Reuters) French striker Nicolas Anelka has signed a four-year deal with Bolton Wanderers after the English Premiership club agreed to pay 8 million pounds (15.11 million dollars) to Turkey's Fenerbahce.

The 27-year-old, who has had spells in the English top flight with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, completed a medical yesterday.

''Nicolas is a player with an amazing track record in the Premiership,'' Bolton manager Sam Allardyce was quoted as saying by the BBC.

''Patience is a virtue and I am pleased to say that all the waiting and hard work we've done behind the scenes has paid off.

''He was born to score goals. His talent and experience will be a valuable asset for us.

''It's an unprecedented amount of money for Bolton Wanderers to spend and fully underlines the club's ambition.'' After the first two matches of the Premier League season Bolton lie in fourth place.
