Five die in accident

Chandigarh, Aug 25 (UNI) Five people, inlcuding four of a family, died when their car collided with an ambulance on Roopnagar-Jalandhar highway near here.

The family was on way to Vaishno Devi shrine when the accident occurred yesterday.

Pradeep Gupta and Renu and their two young daughters Anchal (21) and Megha (18) and the family's driver Bharat, were identified as the deceased.

The driver of the ambulance, Pritam Chand, has been arrested and a case under sections 279, 304-A, 337, 338 and 427 registered against him at the Kathgarh police staion near Roopnagar.
