Exim Bank signs MoC with STFC
Mumbai, Aug 25 (UNI) As part of the Exim Bank's initiative to promote and facilitate participation of village and rural grassroot enterprises in the globalisation process, a Memorandum of Co-operation (MoC) was signed between Exim bank and SEWA Trade Facilitation Centre (STFC), Ahmedabad.
The MoC was signed by Exim Bank Chairman and Managing Director TC Venkat Subramanian and STFC Chairperson Ms Reema Nanavaty in Ahmedabad yesterday, according to a release issued by the bank today.
On the occasion of signing the MoC, Mr Subramanian said, ''With India's rich and diverse base of artisan related industry, Exim Bank has taken the initiative in seeking to provide international market access to products from rural grassroot enterprises and enhance the income level of artisans.'' STFC is a unique commercial enterprise formed by more than 15,000 rural artisan SEWA members from desert districts in North Gujarat to overcome their impoverished condition through enhanced trade.
The MoC with Exim Bank will help the STFC to expand its presence and product range in the overseas market through networking with the Bank's business contacts abroad.
