'Dead' history-sheeter arrested

Moradabad, Aug 25 (UNI) The Special Operation Group (SOG) of the district police arrested a history-sheeter, who was declared dead two months back.

SSP Sujit Pandey said here yesterday that Raju of Hazratnagar Gadi area and Kulwant of Dhapori village were partners in crime.

The duo had allegedly strangled two men, Madan and Jagdish, and set the bodies afire.

They left their vehicle near the half-burnt corpses in the forest of Navainipatti village and fled the scene.

Later, the duo's relatives identified the bodies as of Raju and Kulwant and registered a case.

However, acting on a tip-off cops on wednesday arrested Raju, his father Banviri and Pratap Singh.

Kulwant was still absconding and said to be hiding in Delhi.

Meanwhile, the SOG team was rewarded.
