Bihar govt prepares to meet drought challange: Nitish
Madhepura, Aug 25 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today assured that the state government is well prepared to meet the challanges arising from drought-like situation and would seek the Centre's assistance when required.
Addressing a function to celebrate the 88th anniversary of former Chief Minister B P Mandal, Mr Kumar said here that steps have been taken to tackle the drought effectively.
''In a major step to provide succour to drought affected farmers, state government would give Rs 10 subsidy on every litre of diesel purchased by the farmers,'' he said.
