Bar dancer arrested for assaulting security guard, gets bail

Mumbai, Aug 25 (UNI) A local court here today granted bail to bar dancer Tarannum Khan, her father and bodyguard on a personal bond of Rs 5000 each.

The three were arrested last night for allegedly assaulting and threatening a private security guard after he demanded his wages.

Advocate Harshad Ponda, arguing on behalf of the trio, said the charges against his clients were bailable.

The Metropolitan Magistrate at the Andheri court granted bail to the three on a personal bond of Rs 5000 each and directed them not to leave the country without prior permission.

Tarannum had hired a private security guard, Babu Singh (55) on a remuneration of Rs 4000 per month. However, Singh was allegedly not paid since the last four months and last Wednesday, he demanded his dues.

At this, Tarannum, her father A Khan and bodyguard Raju Pastee got angry and allegedly assaulted Singh. The three were arrested following a complaint lodged by Singh.

Tarannum had been arrested earlier on cricket betting charges and has secured bail in that case as well. Income Tax officials had also earlier raided her bungalow and recovered Rs 22 lakh in cash.
