Jammu, Aug 25 (UNI) Bar Association of Jammu (BAJ) today decided to call off its indefinite strike from August 29 in view of Special Leave Petitions (SLPs) in the Supreme Court by the agrieved parties in infamous Kashmir sex scandal for trial of their cases outside the state.

BAJ Presidnet Ved Raj Wazir told UNI this morning's General Body meeting of members of Association which lasted about one hour unanimously decided to call off their strike from Tuesday onward in view of SLPs of agrieved parties in the scandal, listed for hearing before the apex court on Monday. He, however said, lawyers would remain on strike and refrain from judicial work till Monday marking the 61 days of continuous strike.

"This is what we were demanding that cases related to Kashmir Sex Scandal be transferred to Jammu or any other court outside the state.

Since the agrieved party have themselves knocked the doors of Supreme Court, it is now for the apex court to take appropriate decision in the matter," Mr Wazir said.

The lawyers had started indefinite strike on June 28 against denial of right of defence, and threat issued to lawyers in Srinagar while representing their clients.
