'Akhand Saubhagyawatee' released in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Aug 25 (UNI) Marathi film 'Akhand Saubhagyawatee' was today released in Western Maharashtra's various cities and towns.

Actor Deepak Deualgaonkar entered into the film production and direction in the Marathi film industry through this film.

Talking to reporters on the eve of the film's premiere show here today, Deualgaonkar said two well-known leading Marathi actors -- Ashok Saraf and Vikram Gokhale -- play the roles of two close friends in this film. Though they are of different castes but are shown as members of a family.

Saraf and Gokhale have come together for the film after a long time. They had earlier acted in a popular Marathi film 'Vazeer'.

The film is a family drama, with its story revolving around a ex-serviceman, whose first priority is to serve the nation. On this background, his two sons also enter the military service, he said.

Through the film he wanted to pass on the message that the soldier who lays down his life fighting for the nation becomes a martyr and becomes immortalised in the country's history.

His actress wife, Nishigandha Wad, plays the role of daughter-in-law of the retired serviceman in this film, he added.
