Two Nigerians arrested for duping net users

New Delhi, Aug 24 (UNI) The Delhi Police have busted a gang of Nigerian cheaters who used to dupe users of lakh of rupees by luring them of paying huge amount of money as gift.

The two 31-year-old Felix Awatefe and 38-year-old Salem, were arrested on August 22 on a complaint by D S Ramchandra Raju of Vishakhapatnam that one of the Nigerians, calling himself Samuel Sowoto, had duped him of Rs 15,67,000 on e-mail on the lure of paying him 850000 Dollars as gift.

The complainant was told that he would have to spend certain amount for legal formalities involved in shifting the amount from West Africa to Vishakhapatnam. Thereupon, he paid the required amount to the Nigerian in New Delhi.

The two accused were nabbed near Chanakya cinema on August 22 when they had come for collecting the delivery of money from the complainant.

On interrogation, they confessed to have duped the complainant of the said amount.

Further interrogation revealed that their group leader is Canin who is in Nigeria. Canin used to direct the two to reach a particular destination and collect money which was then sent to him as per his directions.
