TRS activists continue their agitation

Hyderabad, Aug 24 (UNI) Activists belonging to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) continued with their protest demonstrations for the second consecutive day in many parts of Telangana region of the state.

In Hyderabad, 19 TRS MLAs were arrested when they staged a ''Rasta Roko'' in front of the Assembly.

In Warangal district, TRS activists continued their relay hunger strike in front of Warangal Collectorate. They also staged a ''rasta Roko'' on Hyderabad-Warangal route for one hour.

Members of Association of Kakatiya University Teachers (AKUT) led by their leader Prof Venkat Narayana along with University non-teaching staff, research scholars and students boycotted classes and took out a rally at KUC Cross Road.

ABVP activists also staged a separate ''rasta roko'' at University First Gate. A group of Telangana sympathisers resorted to ''rail roko'' and stopped Delhi bound Andhra Pradesh Express for 15 minutes in Kazipet junction.

In Medak, Karimnagar and Khammam district, the TRS activists orgainised dharnas and burnt effigies of AICC President Sonia Gandhi.
