Today's incident in Lok Sabha shameful: BJP
New Delhi, Aug 24: Dubbing the incident involving a near clash in the Lok Sabha today between MPs of the RJD and NDA alliance as ''shameful'', the BJP demanded ''strong action'' against those guilty to see that such events did not recur.
Asked to comment on the events that led the near-clash situation in the House, BJP Parliamentary Party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra told mediapersons at a press conference in Parliament that everybody had seen what was happening as the entire sequence of events took place before the cameras.
Noting that Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee was examining the records and tapes, he hoped the Speaker would take deterrent measures to prevent such kind of events in future.
''We are available for consultation and let us all deliberate upon the action to be taken by the Speaker,'' Prof Malhotra said.
''In the evening, Leader of Opposition L K Advani is hosting a dinner for the NDA MPs at his residence and the issue might figure in the meeting,'' he added.
