Sikhs react to forced haircut

Vidisha, MP, Aug 24 (UNI) The Sikh community in this district headquarters reacted strongly today against the forced haircut of a Sikh student in Jaipur.

The community's sentiments were hurt and the incident cannot be dismisssed as a mere fight, said the local gurdwara's Gyani Manjeet Singh.

BJP MLA Sardar Gurucharan Singh felt it was improper to lend religious overtones to the episode. ''An inquiry will reveal the truth. I appeal to the Sikhs to calmly contemplate and then take a decision,'' he added.
