Security tightened at Kalpakkam
Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, Aug 24 (UNI) The curfew declared at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) at Kalpakkam imposed earlier till August 21, has been extended for another week and security further tightened.
An Official said the security has been beefed-up, with the army, Central Industrial Security Force(CISF) and the state police force, manning the areas surrounding the Atomic Power Installations, following reports of terrorist attack on atomic power installations in the country.
The Centre has strengthened the security following reports that two suspicious persons had entered the atomic power installation at Kakrapar in Gujarat recently, the official added.
