Not 'sati' but suicide: MP Comn
Sagar, MP, Aug 24 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh State Women's Commission has concluded that the death of a woman in this district's Tulsipaar village was a case of self-immolation and not 'sati'.
''The site was inspected and the statements of the woman's relatives, sarpanch and other villagers recorded. The site yielded bangles but no trace of a sari. Tribal Janakrani's state of mind prompted the crime. A report will be submitted to the government within 10 days,'' Commission Chairperson Relam Chouhan told mediapersons here today.
Janakrani plunged into her husband's pyre on August 21 and a magisterial inquiry was ordered.
