Global Organisation Development Summit in Mysore from Sep 18

Bangalore. Aug 24 (UNI) A four-day Global Organisation Development Summit will be held in the city of palaces from September 18, paving the way for the formation of an Asian Organisation Development Association.

Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara Institute for Management Development (SDM-IMD), Mysore, the organisers, in a release here yesterday, said the summit was supported by the Indian Society for Applied Behavioural Science (ISABS) and Infosys Leadership Institute (ILI), Mysore.

The summit goal was 'Networking for Knowledge Sharing'.

Professionals across the world would be sharing their success stories and knowledge at the summit.

The relevance and importance of Organisation Developmen (OD), through which many issues could be addressed had not been felt for a long time, except in the case of few large organisations in India.

OD supported the Human Resources professionals in approaching the organisational issues from different perspectives to enable human capital strategies to be well aligned with business strategies, the release said.

Currently OD was emerging as a discipline of importance and being given a central role in the HRD departments. It was in this context of awareness and interest that the need for sharing the knowledge in the OD field and networking with other OD professionals and bodies become imminent, the release added.

The summit would bring together important personalities from around the world to deliver keynotes. Prof Udai Pareek, considered to be the father of Indian HRD Movement, Prof Peter Koestenbaum (Harvard Business School), Roland Sullivan (USA), Prof Michael Beer (Harvard Business School), Prof David Bradford (Stanford Business School) and Ms Anne Littwin, the Ex-President of National Training Laboratory (NTL) are among the key speakers and chairs of various sessions.
