Jaipur, Aug 24:   Medical students and resident doctors here are on strike today in a renewed protest against the 27 per cent reservation in higher educational institutes.

The students are currently blocking the two main roads of the city, which has caused a traffic snarl, informed Rashim Kataria, secreatry of Youth for Equality Forum , Jaipur Chapter.

The students took out a rally today from Statue Circle to Sawai Mansingh Hospital, shouting slogans against Union Human Resource Minister Arjun Singh. The students wanted to meet the Chief Minister and hand over a memorandum to her with their demands. But they were denied a meeting with her.

The students plan to continue their dharna near the city's Suchna Kendra until they get an audience with the Chief Minister.
