Patna, Aug 24 (UNI) Additional Director General(ADG) of Crime Investigation Department(CID) Anand Shankar would conduct fresh inquiry into the charges levelled against DIG(Rail) Ajay Verma who is evading arrest following issuance of warrant against him.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered fresh inqury after DIG's wife Sampat Verma today urged him to issue directive for a thorough probe into the matter. She alleged that earlier inquiry was not impartial and his husband had been falsely implicated in the case.

Earlier Mr Kumar had directed Home Secretary Afzal Amanullah to ensure impartial inquiry in wake of the charges levelled by Ms Verma. On the directive of CM, Home Secretary had ordered the ADG, Anand Shankar to conduct fresh inquiry into the case.

Mr Amanullah would look into the allegations of Ms Verma against Bihar DGP Ashish Ranjan Sinha. DIG's wife had accused the DGP of not conducting the case in an impartial manner.

DIG(Rail) was charged with misusing his position as an IPS officer in a case lodged at Town police station of Hajipur on January 24, 2006. Later Chief Judicial Magistrate of Hajipur had issued the warrant against the DIG in the case.
