Building collapses in Pakistani city, two dead
ISLAMABAD, Aug 24 (Reuters) Several floors of a shopping arcade under construction collapsed in the Pakistani city of Lahore today killing two people and injuring 17, a government official said.
''They were trying to build two more floors when it collapsed,'' said top city administrator, Mian Amir Mehmood.
Dozens of vehicles parked around the construction site were damaged, he said.
Building regulations are lax and often ignored in Pakistan and accidents on construction sites are common.
