Additional flights from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 24 (UNI) Air India today announced additional Air India Express flights from Thiruvanathapuram to Dubai towards the end of the month and next month to cater to the demand of extra seats.

The first two additional flights would be operated from Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai on August 28 and 31, departing from Thiruvananthapuram at 0050 hrs, a statement.

The demand for seats became more acute during the second half of August and early September as the schools reopened in the Gulf after summer holidays in the first week of September, it said.

This year, the demand for extra seats was more as many of the passengers who could not obtain emigration clearance during May and June due to strict emigration regulations were also travelling.

The need for extra capacity on this route was being closely monitored and based on present indications, the authorities had been asked to operate at least five more additional flights during the next 15 days so that those who had come from the Gulf and West Asia for Onam could also avail these additional flights on the Thiruvananthapuram-Dubai sector.
