We will adhere to court orders: Cable Operators

Mumbai, Aug 23 (UNI) Cable operators have said they will abide by the court orders regarding waiver of subscription charges for the period of discontinuation of their service.

The High Court division bench comprising justices R M Lodha and S A Bobde, while passing orders today, also observed that the consumers had the right to view the channels as they were paying for the same. The cable operators, therefore, must not charge for the period of time they had discontinued their services.

Anil Parab, Shiv Sena MLC and chief advisor of the Cable Operators Distribution Association (CODA), told reporters outside the court, ''We will abide by the court orders'' when asked whether he would advise the operators not to charge money for the period of disconnection.

He said he would go through the court judgement and take steps in accordance with the order.

The court also held that further grievances in the issues regarding losses and compensation from operators could be followed through legal procedures in the consumer courts.
