Idea crosses 1 mn subscriber mark in Kerala

Kochi, Aug 23: Idea Cellular Ltd today said it crossed the one million subscriber mark in Kerala and garnered 42 per cent market share among the private GSM operators.

In a release here, Idea Kerala Circle Head B Ramakrishna said Idea had emerged as the largest private GSM player in the Kerala circle.

Idea was the only operator in Kerala with a 100 per cent GPRS and AMR enabled network, he claimed.

Mr Ramakrishna said the company had added 100 more towns to its network in the past three months and include 90 more towns before September ten.

He said the company added five lakh new subscribers in the past two years with one lakh new customers being enrolled in the past 37 days alone.
