CM blames Advani on Telangana issue
Hyderabad, Aug 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today alleged that the BJP had 'double standards' on the Telangana issue, stating that former Home Minister L K Advani had once rejected the demand for creation of new states.
Addressing a press conference here, Dr Reddy said in the wake of creation of the three states of Uttaranchal, Chhattisgarh and Jharkand, the Congress Working Committee had passed a resolution urging the Centre to constitute the second States Reorganisation Commitee to study the demand for creation of Vidarbha and Telangana.
Mr Advani rejected the demand saying 'there is no need for it,' he said, adding, the BJP leader had stated that it would not be in the national interest as the demand had been raised in many states.
