NIIT partners IIM-C to offer executive education progs

New Delhi, Aug 22: Close on the heels of its association with country's premier institution IIM Ahemedabad, NIIT Ltd today announced its alliance with Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta, to offer Executive Development Programmes to working professionals through virtual classrooms.

As per the agreement, IIM Calcutta will design management education programmes, deliver them through its experienced faculty and conduct evaluation and certification while the company will provide the technology for virtual classrooms and implement and manage the overall student experience.

''With our special synchronous learning technology and learning management systems, we hope to recreate the campus experience at the centres we are setting up for these executive development programmes. Together with IIM-C's high-quality programmes and faculty, we expect to offer training for working professionals across the country, to give them an edge in their careers,'' NIIT Ltd Chairman Rajendra S Pawar said.

The learning technology with broadband and special software will enable live faculty-students interaction and other features of classroom teaching. The company will also integrate e-learning with this and provide other required education and learning management services.

Through this alliance, IIM Calcutta will offer two programmes --Programme on strategic management for senior executives and Programme on applied finance for executives in finance functions.

The programme for strategic management will enable the participants to broaden their business perspective, develop on tools and techniques required for managing organisations and transform them into strategic leaders in their organisations.

The applied finance programme aims to provide executives with knowledge in the frontiers of finance using latest pedagogy to develop brilliant financial minds.

The programme is designed to provide training in the techniques and nuances in finance expected of a successful professional, in the corporate sector, banks and financial institutions.

The programme would be equally relevant for professionals working as broking, security analyst, consultants and chartered/cost accountants.

Last week the company announced its tie-up with IIM-A targeting executives to offer them two programmes in the areas of General Management and Strategic Business Communications.
