Woman killed for dowry

Mirzapur, Aug 21 (UNI) A woman was allegedly charred to death over dowry demands by her in-laws, under Katra Kotwali police station area here today.

Police said Neetu (22) -- married to Sri Narayan of Gopalpur a year back -- was constantly harrased by her in-laws to bring more dowry.

When the demands were not met, they doused Neetu with kerosene and set her afire.

Besides, Neetu's father was also brutally beaten up by her in-laws, when he reached their house after hearing the news.

Later, police arrested Narayan and his father after registering a case.
