WLCI expands its operation to include Non Metro cities: Pasricha

Panaji, Aug 21 (UNI) Wigan&Leigh College India (WLCI) which has carved a niche in the field of professional education in the country today announced its expansion plans to provide industry- oriented education in non- metro cities.

WLCI Chairman Vinay Pasricha speaking to media here today said there will be professional courses in Business, Advertising and Graphic Design, Media and Fashion Tecnology and these courses shall now be available to the youth in prominent cities of Gujarat, Maharastra, Kerala, Madhya pradesh, Tamilnadu, Jharkhand and Assam.

Mr Pasricha said WLC has completed 10 years and has trained over 8000 students. The college currently has over 2500 students pursuing a wide range of professional courses in 15 campuses.

The Chairman announced the introduction of Professional communication skills course as an intergal part of the academic curriculum for the campuses, the course is especially designed to detail each of the professional programme that the college offers.

An intensive course, it shall empower students to enhance their powers of expression and communication skills as well as provide training in developing soft skills and personally development. The modified curriculum shall be adopted in the new semester beginning next month.

Mr Pasricha said WLCI offers a unique traineeship programme to the students giving them the opportunity to gain work related skills while still studying at the college. The courses are designed to give students a productive, professionally fulfilling and rewarding career.

Wigan&Leigh College, UK, is one of the largest education insitutions in the country with a worldwide reputation for quality education. Each year WLC, UK offers scholarship to the postgraduate and Undergraduate students of WLC India to complete the last semester in UK, Mr Pasricha added.
