WB Govt to encourage egg production
Kolkata, Aug 21 (UNI) The West Bengal government has introduced an incentive scheme to promote egg production.
Rs two crore would be given as grants to 40 projects in the state with an onetime incentive of Rs 5 lakh each to hatcheries producing over 10,000 eggs per day, Animal Husbandry Minister Anisur Rahaman said.
Another Rs 3 crore would be given to women self-help groups, he said.
A three-member committee has been set up for shortlisting groups to be given grants, the minister said.
He said an official notification would be issued soon.
