Three kg heroin seized, two nabbed

Jalandhar, Aug 21 (UNI) The Punjab Police nabbed two drug smugglers and seized 3 Kg heroin worth Rs three crore in the international market from their possession here today.

Acting on a tip-off, the police nabbed the accused, identified as Lakhwinder Singh of Cheharta Amritsar and Daljit Rai Sharma of Khandwala Amritsar, while they were alighting from a bus at Choggati Chowk here, a police spokesman said.

While 2 Kg of heroin was recovered from Lakhwinder, one Kg of contraband was seized from Daljit Rai.

The consignment was received by the accused from their contact at Chabbal in Amritsar and was meant for sale in Jalandhar or New Delhi, the spokesman added.
