Three drown in pit

Jabalpur, Aug 21 (UNI) Three people -- including two girls -- drowned in a pit near Auriyan village in the Jabalpur district, police said.

Seema (10), Meera (13) and Roop Singh (21) ventured forth to graze animals early yesterday. Seema was playfully watching the water in the pit when she slipped into it. Meera, Singh and a third person Kamlesh plunged in to save the girl.

Kamlesh was the sole survivor in the entire mishap.

Villagers rushed to the spot. The bodies were sent for post mortem.
