Snow and rains in HP
Shimla, Aug 21 (UNI) High altitude areas of Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh had spell of snowfall, while several areas in Shimla and Kangra districts were lashed by heavy rains during the past 24 hrs, Met and official sources today said.
A report from Kangra district said that a house in Nurpur was particlly damaged due to rains. However, no loss of life was reported in the incident.
Dharamshala in Kangra district was the wetted town of the state after receiving 102 mm of rain followed by 91.6 mm rain at Palampur, 59 mm at Jogindernagar, 51.1mm at Shimla Sujanpur tira 47mm and 40 mm at Ghamroor.
Several places in Kullu, Mandi,Bilaspur, and Solan districts also received moderate to heavy rains, he said.
The minimum temperature decreased to 15.6 degree Celsius in Shimla but it rose to nine degree celsius at Patseo in Lahalul Spiti district.
Dharamshala had so far received 1,957.8 mm of rain since June, the met office added.
