Rupee ends flat at 46.45/47/USD

Mumbai, Aug 21 (UNI) Indian Rupee today closed flat at 46.45 /47 per US Dollar compared to the previous close of Rs 46.47 per US Dollar, the strength in Indian currency is mainly due to weakning of US Dollar against Asian currencies and also due to Fund flow that is coming into the Indian market, a money market trader said.

Earlier, Rupee opened at Rs 46.44/45 per US Dollar and in the mid morning session traded at 46.4/44/US Dollar.

RBI today fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.45/US Dollar compared to the previous rate of 46.48 per US Dollar.

The six month forward premia was fixed high at 1.45 per cent and the one year forward premia was also fixed high at 1.38 per cent.

The Rupee performance against other currencies however was not as expected, against Euro it was down at Rs 59.90 (59.41), against Yen it was down at Rs 40.08 (40.07), however, against Pound Sterling it was up at Rs 88.04 (89.34).
