Passenger held with forged passport

Chennai, Aug 21 (UNI) Airport police arrested a 47-year-old passenger for allegedly arriving here from Malaysia by producing a forged passport, at Anna International Airport.

Police said V Jayapal hailing from Mannargudi arrived here yesterday by Air India flight (AI 42) from Kuala Lumpur.

The immigration authorities while verifying his travel documents, found his passport as forged. Later, he was handed over to local police for further investigation.

Jayapal was remanded to judicial custody, police added.
