Natwar invited suspension: Kamla Beniwal
Jaipur, Aug 21 (UNI) Former deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Kamla Beniwal today said the proposed Kisan rally in support of suspended Congress leader Natwar Singh was pointless as no issue concerning the farming community was involved.
She said the Congress has not 'humiliated' Natwar Singh as alleged by the organisers of the rally. She said Mr Singh had invited suspension from the party by his actions and utterances following the publication of the Pathak Inquiry Committee report.
Addressing a press conference here at the Congress office the Congress leaders stepped up their offensive against the rally organisers by saying that Rajasthan Jat Mahasabha has neither the support of Jat community nor farmers.
They also questioned the credential of Kisan Sangarsh Samiti, the co-organiser of the rally. Former Minister Hirendra Mirdha said people have never before heard of the Kisan Sangarsh Samiti.
Mr Mirdha asked the people to keep away from the rally as it was anti-Congress and anti-farmers. He said the rally was organised to meet the vested interest of some people.
RPCC presdient BD Kalla, vice presdient Dr Chandraban, MLAs Ramlal Jat, Virendra Beniwal, and former MP Udailal Angena were among those present on the occasion.
