Meghalaya Governor requests additional security force

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) Meghalaya Governor M M Jacob today requested the Centre to provide additional security force to improve the state's law and order situation.

The issue came up during a meeting between the State Governor and Home Minister Shivraj Patil here.

Talking to UNI Mr Jacob said it was just a courtesy call and nothing to do with the state's political development.

He said the political situation will have to be dealt and solved by the political parties themselves.

Mr Jacob has been in the capital since Saturday evening.
