Martial artist set new world record

Kozhikode, Aug 21: In an attempt to gain entry into Guinness Book of World Records (GBWR), and Kaju-Kado Karate and Martial Arts Academy Chief Controller Renshi M Dileep Kumar has set a new record by smashing 6025 tiles.

He took only 45 minutes and 44 seconds to achieve this feat at a demonstration witnessed by hundreds of people, including distiguished personalities and representatives from various media organisations from Irelanad, Sweden and Australia here last evening.

Dileep, also a personal security officer of Mysore Mahararaja, set another record by breaking 200 ice blocks.

His performance has been recorded as per the norms stipulated by GBWR and certified copies of results would be sent to them furthern action, programme coordinator and Karnataka-based Okinawa School of Karate International Grand Master Satheesh Raj said.

Dileep had created world record by breaking 2,500 tiles at Jagmohan Palace in Mysore in January 2006 deserving entry into the Guinness.

The event was inaugurated by Kerala Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem.
