Lawyers' strike enters 54th day

Jammu, Aug 21 (UNI) The strike by lawyers of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court and lower courts entered its 54th day today.

The Bar Association, Jammu was demanding the shifting of the much-publicised Kashmir sex scandal cases from Srinagar to Jammu courts or any other court outside the state.

The association President Vedraj Wazir said lawyers, however, were present in the courts but did not take part in the proceedings. The strike with continue until their demands were not filfilled.

The lawyers had started indefinite strike on June 28 against the denial of right of defence and threat issued to them in Srinagar while representing their clients.
