KGH doctors go on strike
Visakhapatnam, Aug 21 (UNI) King George Hospital (KGH) Superintendent S V Varalakshmi today said doctors in the emergency services had decided to go on strike in protest against the attack on Casualty Medical Officer Dr Bangaraiah, alleging negligence following the death of an accident victim.
Hospital doctors and all other unions had given a strike notice to the Superintendent. All emergency services stopped at midnight and outpatient, operations and other wards would not function from today.
Andhra Medical College King George Hospital unit of the Andhra Pradesh Government Doctors Association Treasurer Kurmanath said Class iii and Class iv staff and nurses would participate in the strike.
