GE Shipping places order for 2 AHTSVs

New Delhi, Aug 21 (UNI) Great Eastern Shipping Company (GE Shipping) today said its wholly owned subsidiary Greatship (India) (GIL) has signed a contract with Colombo Dockyard Ltd for purchasing two new building Anchor Handling Tug-cum-Supply Vessels (AHTSVs).

The 80 T AHTSVs, are scheduled to be delivered during the third and fourth quarters of FY08.

This contract brings the total order book of GIL to five OSVs -- four new building (two PSVs and two AHTSVs) and one second hand PSV Last week, GE Shipping said it has signed a contract to buy a 1,47,834 DWT, modern Suezmax crude carrier, to enhance its double hull tonnage.
