Four women drown in sea, two missing

Bhubaneswar, Aug 21 (UNI) Four women tourists from Andhra Pradesh drowned and two others, including an eight-year-old boy, went missing after they went to the sea near Chandrabhaga, close to the Sun Temple at Konark, for a bath.

Police said a 40-member tourist group from Arthanuru in East Godavari district arrived at Konark this morning. Some of them went to the sea for a bath when the mishap occurred.

The sea was very rough following a low pressure area over the North Bay of Bengal and six tourists were dragged into the sea by the current.

While the bodies of the four women were recovered from some distance, two bodies remained untraced.The police soon arrived on the spot and launched a search operation to trace the missing persons.

The four bodies recovered from the sea had been identified.They are Kari Ankaiha Anna,Kari Kantchan,Kari Malalaxmi and Thunduri Marga.
