Cash, ornaments stolen

Chennai, Aug 21 (UNI) Some unidentified miscreants gained entry into the house of a bank official and decamped with Rs 40,000 and 12 soverigns of gold ornaments at Chitlapakkam suburb last night.

Police said the family members had gone for a marriage reception, when the burglary took place.

The culprits gained entry into the house by removing the grill of a window, police added.
