8 killed as truck overturns

Chhindwara (MP), Aug 21 (UNI) Eight people were killed on the spot and 15 others injured, two of them seriously, when a mini truck overturned in Lavaghoghri Ghati on Chhindwara-Betul Road, 35 km from here, today.

Police said majority of the victims, petty traders from Savari village, were on their way to the weekly market at Lavaghoghri village.

The district administration has announced solatium of Rs 5000 each to the next of kin of the dead and Rs 2000 each to the injured, undergoing treatment at the district hospital.
