Tata Teleservices to invest Rs 110 crore

Kolkata, Aug 20: Tata Teleservices would invest Rs 110 crore this financial year in setting up cell sites, True Value shops and hubs in the eastern region.

At present, there are 260 cell sites in Kolkata and Tata Teleservices would be adding another 40 sites over the next two months.

The number of cell sites would go up to 110 by the end of the financial year. This was inclusive of the 40 sites, Mr Abhijit Pal, chief operating officer, Kolkata circle Tata Teleservices, said.

The service provider has set a target of more than a million customers by this year.

Tata Teleservices would have seven lakh customers in a month's time, from the present level of six lakh customers, Mr Pal said,.

Tata Teleservices would also grow the number of shops and hubs.

Tata Teleservices would add 35 shops by September 30. True Value shops were franchised but would also see some investment from Tata Teleservices.

Mr Pal said the number of True Value shops would cross 200 by the year-end.

There were also plans of adding one of more True Value Hub to the existing three. The hubs were company-owned.
