Nedumaran condemns MDMK functionary's arrest

Chennai, Aug 20 (UNI) Tamil Nationalist Movement Leader P Nedumaran today condemned the arrest of MDMK functionary Manimaran, allegedly for his pro-LTTE speeches and demanded his immediate release.

In his statement, Mr Nedumaran here that said at a time when the Tamilians and all political parties should raise their voice for the welfare of the Lankan Tamils, the arrest would only affect the unity of the Tamils.

He urged the government to immediately withdraw the cases registered against the MDMK South Chennai District Secretary and Dalit Panthers of India functionary Kadamban and demanded the release of Mr Manimaran.
