HP Assembly monsoon session from tomorrow

Shimla, Aug 20 (UNI) The monsoon session of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, beginning here tomorrow, is expected to be stormy with the BJP deciding to raise several issues like CPMT paper leak, irregularities in recruitment, failure to check prices of essential commodities and alleged protection to corrupt people by the government.

Briefing mediapersons after the meeting of the BJP group in Vidhan Sabha, former Chief Minister P K Dhumal said the party would take the government to task for shielding the HP University Vice Chancellor in CPMT paper leak case and giving clean chit to the university.

He said the party would vociferously demand removal of the vice chancellor on the issue and press for a thorough discussion on the issue.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had been demanding resignation of the Public Service Commission Chairman in its case of appointments even though he was not involved in the process, while defending the vice chancellor, he said.

Mr Dhumal said the government had failed miserably to tackle the problem of rise in prices of essential commodities and its casual approach towards the drough and excessive rain affected farmers that had led to rejection of its claim for relief from the centre.

He said that the memorandum sent to the centre for relief was flawed and there was no coordination between various department, resulting in denial of any financial assistance.
