Fake note kingpin arested

Basirhat, Aug 20 (UNI) An alleged smuggler of fake currency note was arrested from near Dhamdhemi crossing on the Basirhat Ghojadanga Road at Itinda under Basirhat police station in North 24 Parganas, BSF said here today.

Border Security Force apprehended the accused and handed him over to the police.

BSF apprehended him following a raid in the area having information about the person's involvement in the racket as one of the kingpins operating with fake currency supply.

Following interrogation of a couple of miscreants who were arrested during smuggling of fake notes amounting to Rs 65,000 along with arms and ammunition from Ghojadanga, the man was nabbed.

The fake notes were being smuggled in from the neighouring Bangladesh.

The BSF, here, however said that they would not divulge the identity of the accused, taken into custody or his nationality for the sake of investigation and arrest of more people of the racket, a BSF official said today.
