Congress leader attempts suicide

Karimnagar, Andhra Pradesh, Aug 20 (UNI) Karimnagar town Congress President A Bhaskar Reddy today attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills near the statue of Rajiv Gandhi here today.

Police said a letter written by Mr Reddy said he was taking the sleeping pills as he was not alloted a nominated post despite his selfless service to the party for several years.

Mr Reddy who was admitted to a private hospital here was out of danger, police added.
