Tributes paid to Moopanar

Pondicherry, Aug 19 (UNI) Rich tributes were paid to veteran Congress leader and founder of the Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC), G K Moopanar on his 75th birth anniversary here today.

Pondicherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy, some of his Cabinet colleagues, PCC (I) President P Shanmugham, Legislators and functionaries of the Congress party were among others who garlanded the statue of Moopanar at Marappalam near here.

Earlier, respects were paid to a decorated portrait of the late leader at the PCC(I) office.
