Saikia Commission term extended

Guwahati, Aug 19 (UNI) The Asom government today extended the term of Justice K N Saikia Commission of Inquiry into 'secret killings' for another six months.

A release informed that the extension would come into effect from August 21, when the term of the Commission is due to expire.

It has been extended for six months or till the submission of reports, whichever is earlier, the release added.

The Commission had been conducting hearings in the 'secret killings', which rocked the state during the last decade.
