India 'B' defeats Australia

Bangalore, Aug 19 (UNI) Maintaining their tempo, India 'B' players defeated Australia 5-4 in the second round of the league matches in the 2006 IBSF World Snooker Team Championship, being held at San Jose in the US.

According to results received by the Karnataka State Billiards Association here, India 'B' cueists Rafath Habib 27, 63, 77(49), Siddarth Rao 15, 46, 73 and Aditya Mehtha 79 (41), 39, 79 prevailed over Australia's Mathew Bolton 67, 65, 08, Robby Foldvari 43, 67, 70 and Daniel Throp 00, 37, 49 respectively.

In the other matches, Thailand bt Scotland 5-4, England bt USA 'B' 8-1, Hong Kong bt Isle of Man 8-1, Sweden bt USA 'A' 5-4, USA 'C' bt Japan 7-2.

In the Seniors section, Australia defeated Canada 5-4, while Ireland thrashed Scotland 7-2.
