Congress demands clarification on land dealing
Bangalore, Aug 19 (UNI) The Congress in Karnataka has accused former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (S) National President H D Deve Gowda's family of grabbing farmers' land in the state.
Party spokesman V S Ugrappa told reporters here today that Mr Deve Gowda's daughter-in-law had purchased a land worth Rs 37 lakh in two villages of Mandya district recently.
The circumstances of the land dealing had given rise to many doubts among the people of the state, he said.
Mr Ugrappa said that Mr Deve Gowda who claims to be a crusader for farmers in the country should give a clarification on the land dealing.
