BSF jawan injures two persons
Jammu, Aug 19 (UNI) A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan injured two persons when he opened fire with his Light Machine Gun (LMG) in Balakote sector of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir last evening.
According to police sources, constable Pawan Kumar of 183m battalion of BSF deserted his picket with service LMG in Mendhar tehsil and opened fire on his colleagues who had a narrow escape.
The police party on receiving information immediately swung into action and launched an operation to nab him. As it cordoned he opened fire and injured Riaz Khan (Numberdar) and ex-serviceman Mushtaq Khan.
The jawan was later overpowered by the police party. He also got injured with a shot. He was handed over to unit authorities for treatment and further action.
Police has registered a case in this connection.
